Northwestern University in Qatar unveiled its newsroom with an official dedication on Oct. 29, 2017. The event began with a welcome address by Everette E. Dennis, NU-Q dean and CEO, followed by Miriam Berg, assistant professor in residence in the journalism and strategic communication program, and her students from the JOUR 323-0 video journalism course. The students introduced the anchor desk, the social media desk, the control room, the video wall and the live reporting feature. This was followed by a showcase of the students’ news packages. Sheikha Hind Hamad Al Thani, the CEO of Qatar Foundation and co-chair of the program advisory board for NU-Q, attended the event.
