Iraqi artists Sajjad Abbas and Laith K. Daer recently traveled from Baghdad to Doha for their first collaborative art exhibition, titled City Limits, at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar. Through their art collections, the graduates of The Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad brought an in-depth look at the effects of war on Iraq. Their work can be seen at the university from Nov. 8 to Dec. 9.

Rijin Sahakian curated the exhibition, which showcases Abbas and Daer’s graffiti and three-dimensional installation pieces. According to Abbas, there is a lack of resources and funding for art in Iraq, so the exhibition in Doha expanded his own “city’s limits.”
