BULLETIN: The Carnegie Mellon Building at Hamad bin Khalifa University in Education City was evacuated at 11:49am on Monday, May 6 because of a bomb threat, according to administration officials. Dave Albanese, the head of human resources at NU-Q confirmed that the call was a bomb threat and said that the entire building, which includes offices and classrooms for both Carnegie Mellon and Northwestern universities, has been successfully evacuated. Northwestern is currently waiting for an all clear from Carnegie Mellon University to return to its offices. Albanese said he had no idea why the threat was made. UPDATE – 1:47am
Qatar Foundation has cleared the CMU-Q building and people are allowed to enter now. There is currently no heightened risk to the community according to NU-Q’s crisis management team.
