Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar celebrated its 10th anniversary this Tuesday with the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, chairperson of the Qatar Foundation.
“It was probably the grandest event in the history of CMU-Q so far,” said Fazail Ahmad, a freshman at CMU-Q.
The evening consisted of speeches and videos by students and alumni and ended with a dinner and reception.
Carnegie Mellon Provost and Executive Vice President, Mark Kamlet addressed the audience at the event.
“Time and time again, we hear how pleased employers are with their Carnegie Mellon hires. They praise them for their hard work, their creativity, and their team-above-self approach. These are the hallmarks of a Carnegie Mellon education and that is what we have achieved on our Qatar campus,” Kamlet said.
The event was attended by almost the entire CMU-Q community, including faculty, staff, current students and CMU-Q alumni.
