DOHA:It is probably one of the most awaited shows of the year. With all the Land Cruisers and Mini Coopers in Doha, it makes perfect sense for Qatar to host a motor show for its car lovers.

Prime Minister H E Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabor Al-Thani inaugurated the 2012 edition of the Qatar International Motor Show on Monday at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre. The event kicked off with an exclusive VIP preview before it was opened to the public on Wednesday. The event, which continues through Saturday, serves as a platform for various international automobile makers to exhibit their latest car models that will be soon seen on the streets of Qatar.

Hosting the event for the second time this year, the exhibition is a part of a project by Qatar Holdings to develop automobile clusters in Qatar. This motor show also intends to pave the way for Qatar in the international automobile market.

Qatar is doing a very big investment through Qatar Holdings in automotives, so I think here we are in the show part. It’s not just about the show. It’s a big business behind it,
