Thousands of Syrian expatriates living in Qatar rallied here Saturday to support the Syrian revolution against the regime of President Bashar Al-Assad, at one point burning his effigy in a mock execution.
When the effigy fell from where it was hanging, protesters stamped it to pieces.
In the second Syrian protest in Qatar since August, nearly 3000 protestors gathered on an open field near the Qatar Sports Club in Doha’s Dafna area where a large contingent of Qatari police worked to maintain the peace and non-violence. Qatar’s Ministry of Interior had okayed the protests.
The protest was organized by the Syrian Non-Violence Movement in Qatar.
