The Daily Q is a student-run online newspaper at Northwestern Qatar. It aims to cover events across Education City, as well as report on issues concerning the larger student body across Qatar Foundation and Doha.
Even with the team working remotely, the Daily Q is now recruiting reporters for the Fall 2020 semester. These positions are only open to current Northwestern Qatar students. The following positions are available:
Staff Reporter – Responsible for pitching, reporting, writing and copyediting stories. Typically works on timely, newsy content.
Multimedia Reporter – Responsible for pitching, reporting, and editing stories through multiple visual mediums. Typically works on videos, photos, animation. Must have some experience in camera equipment and filming. Equipment training is also often provided.
Magazine Writer – Responsible for pitching, reporting, writing and copyediting original stories. Typically works on creative, opinionated, longer-form content that is based on factual information. Only students with previous Daily Q experience can apply for this position.
Social Media Reporter – Responsible for pitching, reporting, and producing content for the Daily Q’s social media content and strategizing how to grow the Daily Q’s social media presence. Must be highly reliable and responsive. Previous graphic design experience also preferred.
